Quadra Island Accomodations
Quadra Island Harbour House B&B with
Susan Wilson
I have spent time at Susan's place and from the moment I met Susan I
knew this woman had style and class. Every time I've been there it's
been a cozy homey place and I always seem to leave there well fed. It's
got a room for every type of room seeker and there's a great living
room with a view that never ends and a hot tub waiting for you on the
deck. It really is the place you're wanting to get away to whenever
those 'boy, I'm cravin' a vacation' fantasies kick in.

Whiskey Point Resort
Located right as you get off the ferry, in the parking lot just past
The Landing Pub and Linda's Butterfly Seafoods fish market. There's
a hot tub, apparently open 24hours and you can rent Island Cycle bikes
from there. If they don't have the size for you then Island Cycle can
drop one off or you can pop over to the shop near Taku Resort and hit
the trails around there or further north.

April Point Resort & Marina
Nice spot and it's 'sister' resort, Painter's Lodge, is located on the
other side of the Discovery passage. A free water taxi for guests runs
between the two and if you're around at the right times there are fishing
derbies. If you're a lady and have connections to the right ladies there's
a womyn's fishing derby, but it's a hard one to get into.

Heriot Bay Inn & Marina
A historical spot with fine tastes and that good-old fashioned lodge
kind of feeling. It's a hub to a lot of activities and a nice view for
both the music and dance-seeking traveller and for the more mellower
getaway. One can camp or stay in the inn. It's also the place where
one would meet the locals. website:www.heriotbayinn.com

Heron Guest House Hostel and B&B
Quadra seems to have a few fantastic individuals named Linda, and one
of them owns this place. It's one of those places that sort of sums
up Quadra. There's a couple of different types of lodging here with
that added touch of chickens running around and the creative process
is in the works here. There's an outdoor show under construction, and
Linda actually has a winning waterfront property.

This place just underwent some major renovations and while I don't know
the place too well, I do know that one of our guides cooks a mean dish
for groups at the resort.

Taku Resort
Taku really has accommodations for everyone, right from camping to a
motel-type of set-up to private cabins to a lodge on the water where
you can literally step out of the door onto the dock and this past spring
there were a few baby seals hanging out there. Seal-etiquette really
should be practiced as they're vulnerable those little guys, didn't
Greenpeace tell us so? Taku has lots of changes taking place, a conference
centre is happening and it's our launching spot for our kayaking day
tours and meeting spot for the multi-day tours.

We Wai Kai Campsite
If you're looking to camp at the Rebecca Spit Provincial Park, these
are the folks to talk to. Owned and operated by the Cape Mudge Indian
Band, it's organized and has treed and water sites, access to a surprising
number of trails not to mention the spit. The park is a very historical
spot as it forms Drew Harbour and was home to a number of First Nations
activities.
