| Johnstone Strait Ultimate:
4 day kayak tour |
 |
Our Johnstone Strait tour location is a hot bed for many Killer
Whale pods. They return in large numbers every year to the Robson
Bight Ecological Reserve to do their annual rubbing rituals. Scientists
are amazed by this Orca habit and, as of yet, cannot figure out
the purpose of it. It remains an unexplainable phenomenon, and
may just simply be for pure pleasure.

Our basecamp has probably one of the best views you'll ever eat
to. With a covered area set up by our three guides, there is always
one guide or two who make sure everything is running smoothly
and the food is ready in time for hungry bellies.

Eagles are abundant along the west coast of British Columbia.
As scavengers, they are plentiful in the Johnstone Strait where
they come to feast upon the salmon, just like we do.

Susan Wilson, who hosts many of our guests at her Quadra B&B, brought her
daughter along to the basecamp. In addition to being a beautiful kayaking day,
it turned out to be a very fruitful day for her indeed, as she receives a massage
from her daughter. |

The dorsal fin of a Killer Whale gives us important information
about that individual Orca and its pod. In the last 25 years,
scientists have been able to name most of the resident Orcas by
the markings, and size and shape of their dorsal fin. You are
sure to be surprised at how each fin is unique.

This will be your view from our basecamp, across Johnstone Strait
waters into Robson Bight Ecological Reserve and the Tsitika Valley.
This is truly one of the most beautiful views on the West Coast
of Canada.
